The Truth about Tea

The distilled white mobs scream about impending white slavery yet expect the rampant racism and hysterical rhetoric to play as rational and intelligent discourse. Think about the white slavery sign for a minute.

So what are we supposed to think about these signs? I'd like Framer or anyone willing to associate themselves with the tea party movement to explain the signs at this post. They are not fabrications. I didn't make these up. They are the real deal at real events across the country.
I'd like to hear from the righty blogs (I won't) on why this vitriol is good for the country. It would be one thing if the venom were based on fact, but we witness the deliberate distortion of reality. They only have a problem with spending when a democrat is in office. Their position is a charade.
Republican Administration: SPEND!! SPEND!! DEFICITS DON'T MATTER!!
Democratic Administration: SPENDING IS DESTROYING THE NATION!!

What did Sonoran Alliance have to say about the deficit orgy of the Bush administration? Show me the deficit tirades at Seeing Red AZ, IC AZ, Espresso and Gila when it was GW Bush throwing the nation off a cliff. What were they saying while greed soaked Wall Street thrust the nation into economic ruin? Worse, who do they blame for our debt after eight years of cheering GW Bush's spending spree? The tirade against government is a farce. They're not against government or even big government. They're against government that doesn't have their face.
Why all of the hatred now? Why not in 2008? 2006? 2004? 2002? 2000? NOW they're screaming, and their signs scream the truth so loud it's hard to hear. Read the signs, real signs at real events, no fiction in this post. None.

Ask them what has been taken from them. You will get no answer, but the answer is clear: a white country.

What are they talking about?
Federal income taxes historically low

Also, look up the graph showing what drove the record deficits
The "Tea Party movement" has unquestionably become synonymous with white racism. Local Tea Party "leaders" such as Framer who would like to avoid that association will not be able to do so. White racists, not exactly fringe in my opinion, were drawn to the Tea Party because it allows them to be part of group whose sole purpose is to publicly express anger, rage, and hatred. Their political positions are vague to non-existent, as revealed by the signs.
What do we know about these people other than they think that our elected president is a Muslim, socialist, Kenyan nigger and they dislike paying any taxes and they think that government is too big and spends too much money?
Does all of the above win elections? I guess it remains to be seen. In sufficient numbers, they could and would destroy the nation.
Good post, and not surprisingly, Frank Rich has an excellent piece on this topic, alluding to but not showing what you have here.
What boils my blood is that they blame Obama and other current politicians who had nothing to do with the problems we face.
As x4mr says, Bush drove this country off a cliff. It will break my heart if a bunch of good people lose in November over all this false, distorted rhetoric.
I also wanted to remark on what x4mr said about 2010 strategy for respectable candidates. He is spot on. To win in 2010, they must generate the votes they got in 2008. I am worried about Mitchell, Kirkpatrick, and Giffords. They need to pull out all the stops and put the pedal to the metal.
Come on, x4mr, you're good at finding conversations. Find a way to frame this thing. Mariana is right about the ludicrous manufactured outrage at taxes when they are the lowest they've been in years. They learn lots of Americans don't even pay income tax, and they bitch about that. It is hysterical.
How do you fight FULL TILT NEGATIVE?
That is absolutely true, that the Democrats need to campaign and vote like it's 2008.
I'm not sure about Kirkpatrick or Mitchell, but I suspect Giffords will be alright in 2010. The Republican CD8 candidates are just not that appealing, certainly not at the level needed to overcome a twice elected incumbent. If one of them were moderate, articulate, charming, bankrolled, and looked like George Clooney, she would have a problem. As it is, she'll most likely be okay.
Grijalva is the one to watch these days. He is getting quite a bit of national recognition for being a spokesperson for the Progressives. It won't help him in Arizona but it may eventually lead to something at the national level, if that's what he wants.
