Repealing Reality
The passage of the landmark Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has produced a new movement in the country. Calling themselves "Repeal the Steal!" a new group has formed comprised of Republicans, Libertarians, Tea Party activists, and others, to lead an organized effort to repeal the legislation. Founders, leaders, and early members of the movement gathered in Montgomery, Alabama, to discuss strategy.
Once the repeal of one bad law became a serious consideration, the group realized that it could consider efforts to repeal other problematic legislation that should be overturned. In addition to health care reform, they identified other disastrous laws that have damaged their vision for the nation.
1. The Higher Education Act of 1965
The Higher Education Act of 1965 dramatically expanded access to the nation’s colleges and universities. Our education system is infested with Soviet loving commies and atheists. My son went to school, and they told him a bunch of gobbledygook about fossils and glaciers. Now he thinks the dinosaurs were millions of years ago and is even questioning God. He’s questioning God!
2. Civil Rights Act of 1964
Introduced by JFK in a June 11, 1963 speech and signed into law by President Johnson on June 2, 1964, the bill led to the end of segregation and discriminatory voter registration requirements. This law was one of the worst things to ever happen in America. Now every moron can vote, and that’s the reason we have who we have in the White House right now. We need to go back to the days where you had to take a test and prove you were smart enough to vote.
3.Women’s Suffrage (1920)
Congress passed the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution on June 4, 1919 and it was ratified on August 28, 1920. Families and decency went to hell when pansy ass liberals gave girls the right to vote. Now we got girls in the military. A man working for a girl is an abomination before God. Men with girl bosses causes homosexuality. All of the girls in Congress are lesbians, and they get abortions after their lesbian orgies. It’s an outrage and a humiliation! Could you imagine a country like England or Germany with a skirt in an important job?
4. The Abolition of Slavery (1865)
Passed by Congress January 31, 1865 and ratified on December 6, 1865, The 13th Amendment to the Constitution abolished slavery in the United States. These people, if they are people, were better off as slaves. The free market insures that slave owners treat slaves well, because happy slaves are more profitable. Cruelty and mistreatment of slaves is a NAACP hoax. The founding fathers gave us freedom, and that included the freedom to have slaves. The liberals say they stand for freedom. What about my freedom to own slaves? Let's face it, almost all of them are now in jail anyway.
5. The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938
Also known as the "Wages and Hours Bill," the legislation was the first to enact a minimum wage and require compensation at 150% rates for overtime in certain jobs. The act also prohibited the use of child labor for almost all employment. This abomination of a bill is a perfect example of big government interference where it’s got no business. I oughta be able to employ whoever I want and pay whatever I want. Why can’t a six year old make a little money after school? This law is unconstitutional, a violation of my rights, and puts us on the slippery slope to communism.
The Repeal Movement is rapidly gaining steam, "Our first priority is health care and keeping government from taking over existing programs like Medicare. We have God on our side. All that happens is part of God's plan."
When this was said, a previously invisible hotel worker stocking a table with refreshments shocked the room by turning and asking loudly, "Why did God make Obama president?!"
Everyone fell into an awkward silence.
Then a man stood up, seething, "God made Obama president," he contemptuously pointed a finger at a picture of Obama painted as a clown, "because someone like him becoming president exposes the truth about some of the people in this country."

Great post that really says a lot, especially the final sentence. Those talking about appeal really do open a kind of Pandora's box. Why stop with health care?
They are so desperate, so at their wits, that they will try anything, anything to derail progress.
I hate to say this, and its not Obama's fault at all, but the political discourse during his administration is even more painful than it was under Bush.
I forgot what Republicans get like when they don't have their way.
This is like 1964.
Anyone who didn't understand what the so-called Tea Party movement was really about certainly should now. They are a loosely associated "movement" of ignorant, uneducated, racist, and dangerous white trash. And this includes the Republican representatives who cheered them on.
The Republicans court them because they believe they are worth some votes, and their infrastructure can be useful to Republicans in the coming November election. The Republicans have nothing to offer but obstructionism and opposition, but they are hoping that is enough for ignorant racists. And it is. The trick, of course, is to get the white trash off the couch and into a voting booth. That's where the Tea Party helps them.
Some of the Tea Party "leaders" would have you believe that these ugly displays of racism are unwanted and this is not what the Tea Party is about.
Actually, it doesn't matter. Ignorant, racist white trash is attracted to the Tea Party and they have nowhere else to go. Try getting rid of them.
The association has been made and it will not go away. The Tea Party spit on a congressional representative. The Tea Party called John Lewis, one of the few remaining Civil Rights leaders, a "nigger."
Let's see you try to undo the damage, Tea Party leaders. You cannot. The ugly faces with the gaping, toothless mouths that are shouting racial slurs are your faces. You can't undo it. It is YOU!
Some congressional representatives are getting additional security to protect themselves from you. Right now it is just property damage and spitting on people and calling them names. What is next? Given the high level of ignorance and hatred in your ranks, you become very dangerous when you cluster.
Both x4mr and Liza have been ahead of the curve on this one for a long time now. I remember when x4mr posted Toxic Talk about T-shirts. We were all shocked at the images that illustrated the nature of these people. X4mr asserted that the Republicans are playing with fire with they blow on coals still simmering all the way back to The Civil War.
When the utterly brainwashed imbecile lady said that Obama was an Arab, it was too much for John McCain, whose fragments of rationality recoiled. He corrected her. Now, it's like those fragments have evaporated. Dozens of Republican members of the house actually cheered when one of the nut jobs burst out and then fought with security officials inside the house chamber!! They're losing it.
The FBI is investigating over ten death threats.
"You're dead. We know where you live."
"You baby killing mother f***er. I hope you bleed out your ass."
Someone cut a natural gas line at the home of who they thought was a Congressman. African American Congressmen have received faxes showing drawings of a noose.
Yeah, these people have a great vision for the country. I wish x4mr and Liza were wrong, but they are spot on. X4mr's use of the Confederate imagery is perfect. From the deep South, across over Texas and up into Wyoming and Idaho, a rural set of ignorant, uneducated, fact averse, misinformed savages are about to start shooting people.
On April 19th I'm staying home.
I've seen it all before, a different time, a different place, the same hatred.
If this were 1910 instead of 2010 these people would be getting their children all dressed up to attend a lynching and get their pictures taken.
The participation of the Republican representatives is actually shocking, even for me, although it probably shouldn't be. I can accept that Michelle Bachmann is aberrant and grotesque and probably has a mental illness or a hardwired character deficit at the very least. But what explains all the others? Do they want an assassination? Is that what they are promoting?
It has become very dangerous, to be sure. It seems there isn't a shred of decency left in the GOP.
The incredible lie in all of this is that the bill itself is irrelevant.
Whatever Obama wanted to do would have been hyped as Armageddon. If he had started with immigration reform, or tax reform, or energy reform, take your pick, the Republicans and Fox would still have unleashed these orcs from the bowels of Mordor. Republicans have been moving in this direction for decades.
The bad news for Republicans is that the orcs are unlikely to go back to Mordor anytime soon. 150 years later, the Confederacy still hasn't figured out that it lost the War.
