The Border--Take Two on Nightline, Lunch with Karl

ABC News ran some additional material on the CD 8 border, immigration, and the upcoming election on Nightline. The write up is available here.

As noted several weeks ago, Karl Rove is indeed coming to town. Those on lists that do not include my name are receiving invitations for a lunch with Darth Rove and Matt Salmon here in Tucson September 29th.

Darth Rove is coming to Tucson why?

Darth coming to town seems at odds with the NRCC pullout... And why with Matt?

On the ABC story and Graf’s rant on those darn dead illegals…

Is it just me, or is it a bit callous to complain about the cost of storing the bodies of dead would be illegal immigrants? Yes, our border counties are hard pressed for funds to provide services to legal residents, but come on… It’s not like these people asked to die from the heat or exposure in the Sonoran Desert just to get our world renowned morgue services!

So, I guess Randy doesn’t like Hispanics… Alive or dead! OK, that was cheap, but I couldn’t resist ;-)

Thanks for the good wishes.

Tonight, the 6 PM KGUN news made the NRCC pull out of the $1 M in ads their number one story this evening, and used it to give Graf the most extensive TV time I've yet seen on prime time news. Graf was shown and quoted repeatedly discussing immigration, the NRCC pull out, and the fact that the NRCC actually campaigned against him in the primary. Graf noted that in the general election the NRCC is not spending money against him.

Don't remember the theme song from "Underdog" but you could almost hear it. Perhaps they'll settle for "Rocky."

They concluded the story by holding up the invitation to the Karl Rove event next week to raise money for "republican candidates."

Er, some of them. Is this wierd?

Karl's coming because I asked him to :)

Actually, this was in the works from way before the primary. Obstensibly, I may have an invitation, but it does cost a few dollars. If only I were an "A list" blogger. Let's see. . . Meet Karl or get the NBA season ticket on Dish Network. . .
