A Cloth Purge at DTP

Cloth Aficionado Glenn Lyons resigned from the Downtown Tucson Partnership last April. For those who may not remember, Lyons was the Clothmeister put in charge of the organization to forward the Cloth agenda. Part of this effort included dismissing the organization's most valuable employee, Donovan Durband, so the agency could hire Cara Rene, wife of C.T. Revere, who was chief of staff to City Councilmember Nina Trasoff.

Word is that Lyon's replacement, Michael Keith, lacks his predecessor's enthusiasm for dismissing results in favor of stuffing the coffers of clothophiles.

Michael Keith has been in office five months. Guess who is leaving the Downtown Tucson Partnership next week? From her resignation letter released today:

I want to let you know that I am leaving the Downtown Tucson Partnership.

The decision is not an easy one, but is spurred by the desire to embrace new opportunities.

Last I heard, TREO isn't hiring.

Unless she is independently wealthy and doesn't need to work, her comments appear to suggest she was forced out. "The desire to embrace new opportunities" suggests she doesn't have a new job lined up, so it looks like a force-out.

Michael Keith is trusted, respected, and admired by most downtown people, but some of the Kool-Aid that gets served by the likes of Lisa Lovallo and Larry Hecker is intoxicating. When the Cloth entrusts you with a position in their ranks, you quickly learn the game of self-justification.

This is exactly what it looks like. She was hired out of pure cronyism and corruption and got paid a fat salary to shmooze and clap at Cloth love ins. It is worse that good people were ousted to make room for her.

We'll see if Keith succumbs, but at least initially he appears to on the side of the community and not the Clothmeister scum.

Who knows, x4mr? Maybe Snell could shut down the Food Bank and use its funding to hire her as Sr. Executive VP for Public Relations.

The last member of the Kappa Kappa Trasoff sorority who attempted to corral the entire downtown into the smallest fraternity of non-performing developers in the history of western cities. Oh... and about her personality.... well ask the other kids at the school.
Now, there may be some greenbacks for some genuine people doing genuine work....like supporting the Saturday Night Events, which were only disbanded to support her and the Canadian's salary. Maybe she could head off to Iowa to help Lyons grow some corn.

Miz Rene was on NPR yesterday (fund raising) still identifying herself as "with" the Downtown Tucson Partnership.

$60,000.00 salary for 4 days a week of work, sans content, mostly pissing off downtown loyals, and now off to pasture at the UofA? How fitting. The University is always so gracious and merciful about taking City folk who want to work on their second Government pension; Ronstandt,Valdez,Varney(God rest his soul, good man.) In Rene's exit interview might she share with the citizens exactly what she did? Can we get a refund?
