UGGGHHHH. What a slog.
Those that have run the half-mile competitively (now the 800M – two laps) know that it is a brutal race because it balances the need to sprint your flipping arse just barely below your maximum speed yet you have to last the longest two-minutes imaginable. The last thing in the world your body wants to do after flying around the track at a sub 60 second pace is to keep going and do it again. As you come out of the final turn, your legs have devolved to two clumps of cheese at the end of rubber bands.
I am now coming out of the final turn. The brain is toast, and the deadlines are inflexible. I am getting too old for this sort of thing. If you know anyone over 45 that talks about going back to school to get a PhD, tell them they are insane. People doing this should be 25.

Well, what I can say is that it takes a set of stones to hit the reset button in the late 40s and go for a PhD. You could have just gone for easier money.
I don't know the details, but I know you're in education and will end up helping society become more informed. Good for you. Obama has put significant funds towards education, and God knows we need it.
You were dealt quite an injustice a few years ago by disgusting garbage. Best of luck in your new life. I am confident that the next time around, your awareness of the slime will give you the skills to navigate to better places.
Any update on your departure from Tucson? You must be leaving. The local circus has no place for the likes of you.
